SLOANE SQUARE - WATCHING AND WAITING
Adolescent angst began and ended at Sloane Square for a Pimlico boy.
It always struck me when watching otheres waiting for an evening of potential excitement that the head and the body became two disinct things - the face anxious; the body primed and prepared.
Waiting on the steps f The Royal Cout reminded me of the cruel playground selection of teams. Those left, although thoroughly rejected, could at least go off in a huddle; but here on the Square you slowly ambled off alone...everyone unable to resist the last yearning glance towards the steps before they became like them, out of sight - something that never happened.
